The first Berkel slicing machines started to be commercialized
in 1888. The white and black ones where destined to the industries, while
the red ones to the handicraftsman laboratories and to the gastronomy stores.
Besides being fascinating in their aesthetical way its interesting
and curious to know that these slicers doesn't adulterate the taste and the
organoleptic qualities of the slices since to cut a whole slice you need
only one turn which doesn't overheat the blade.
From 1940 Berkel produces
also slicers which work only electronically.
